Meet Carol
Hi, I’m Carol! There’s a lot of trust involved in choosing someone to alter the gown you’ve dreamed of, so I wanted to introduce myself. I’ve been happily married for over 34 years and have two wonderful married daughters and a couple of great sons-in-law. I first learned to sew growing up on a Virginia farm, using my grandmother’s Singer treadle machine. That machine still sits just inside my front door. Sewing took a backseat for a while as life got busy and took a few unexpected turns…as it often does.

My family and I came to Texas by way of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Tennessee, and we love calling Waco home! When we moved to Lorena eight years ago, I found myself back in the sewing world, costuming for my daughter’s children’s theatre company. Soon after that, I discovered my true passion for bridal and formal alterations and turned it into a full-time career. Over the years, I’ve altered hundreds of wedding gowns and thousands of formal dresses.
When the location I worked at closed, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to open my own studio. Now, I get to do what I love every day, the way I want to do it—not by a company’s rules—helping clients look fabulous and feel confident for their special occasions! As a mother of the bride—twice—I understand the stress that comes with preparing for the big event. My goal is to reduce that stress and ensure you look and feel your best. I promise to treat you the way I would want my daughters to be treated.
